The K63W Pro Compact from Cherry XTRFY showed up at Computex 2026 with something most wireless keyboards don’t have, which is Ultra-Wideband technology. Paired with a true 8000 Hz polling rate, this compact board is built for gamers who refuse to accept the usual trade-offs that come with going wireless.

Most wireless keyboards transmit on a narrow slice of the frequency spectrum, which is exactly why they pick up interference so easily. Ultra-Wideband works differently. It sends data in short, rapid bursts spread across a much wider range of frequencies.

Cherry XTRFY says this gives the K63W Pro Compact more precise signal timing, less interference, and a steadier connection, even in rooms crowded with competing wireless signals.

The K63W Pro Compact sends input data to your computer 8,000 times per second, whether you’re connected by wire or running fully wireless. That’s the kind of polling rate you would normally only get from a wired board.

Cherry XTRFY also packed in a 6,000 mAh battery, which is a lot of capacity for a 70% keyboard. In practice, that means you are unlikely to see a low battery warning interrupt a long gaming session anytime soon.

The wireless specs aren’t the only thing worth noting. Cherry XTRFY also made deliberate changes to the keyboard’s physical design. The K63W Pro Compact uses a 70% layout that keeps the F-row intact while cutting down the sides, giving you more desk space to move your mouse around.

In the backend, the K63W Pro Compact runs on CHERRY MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches, mounted in a new gasket construction. Cherry XTRFY says the combination produces softer keypresses and a deeper sound profile than what you would normally get from a low-profile mechanical keyboard.

Joakim Jansson, the director of product management at CHERRY, put it plainly, saying the board delivers “a typing feel you would never expect from a low-profile keyboard.” On pricing, the K63W Pro Compact lands at $169.99 and goes on sale in the US this August. It is not the cheapest option out there, but given the specs, it is not hard to see where the price comes from.
