LG’s UltraGear 25G590B finally has a real price tag and a release date for the US. This 24.5-inch monitor built for esports is now up for preorder straight from LG, priced at $999.99, and it ships free with expedited delivery starting September 1.
The big selling point here is the native 1,000Hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080. That makes it the first Full HD gaming monitor to hit that speed without needing to drop the resolution to get there.
In practical terms, the screen can refresh up to 1,000 times every second, or once every millisecond. LG also throws in the option to overclock it up to 1,100Hz if you want to push it further.
Who is LG UltraGear 25G590B Gaming Monitor for?
This monitor is built for one type of user, and they are competitive FPS players who care more about motion clarity and quick response than a sharp, high-res image. LG went with a 24.5-inch panel because that size is already standard in esports, and it keeps most of the action inside your natural line of sight instead of forcing your eyes to wander.

Hitting that 1,000Hz mark isn’t as simple as just plugging the monitor into any gaming PC. LG requires Windows 11, DisplayPort 2.1, and either an Nvidia RTX 50-series card or an AMD Radeon RX 9070, RX 9060, RX 7900-series card or newer.
DisplayPort 2.1 matters here because its UHBR20 bandwidth is what lets the monitor stay at Full HD while running at its top refresh rate.
There’s also Motion Blur Reduction Pro, which sharpens up fast-moving targets on screen, but turning it on means giving up FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatibility.
LG UltraGear 25G590B Cheaper Alternative
The Acer Nitro XV273U F5 comes in $300 cheaper than LG’s option and might actually be the smarter buy for most people. It has a 27-inch screen running at 2560 x 1440 and 540Hz, so you get more screen real estate and a cleaner image for anything outside of competitive shooters.

But if 1,000Hz is what you’re after, the comparison flips. Acer only hits that speed by dropping down to 720p, while LG holds onto full 1080p and can even push to 1,100Hz with overclocking.
LG’s $1,000 price is steep, no question, but if you’re specifically shopping for a fast panel to play esports titles, the UltraGear 25G590B is probably one of the best choices out there right now.
