You can complain all you want about bezel-less phones, how awkward they can be to type on, how they turn basic ergonomics into a headache. But there’s no denying they still have a certain appeal. For more than ten years now, phone makers have tried one approach after another to shrink or get rid of those black borders altogether.
Vivo went the route of curved, sloped screens. Others, like Essential and Xiaomi, just kept shaving the bezels down bit by bit. Apple and Samsung eventually followed that same path, but honestly, neither one has taken a real swing at anything bold in a while.

Tecno seems to want to skip the tricks and go straight for a true bezel-less design. The brand just dropped a short teaser video for what it’s calling its next-gen bezel-less concept phone. Worth noting right away, this is a concept, not a confirmed product.

Tecno True Bezel-Less Concept Phone
Tecno hasn’t announced when or if it’ll actually show this off officially, but IFA 2026 looks like the most likely spot. Looks aside, the phone genuinely looks impressive, and word going around is that 2027 could turn into a real battleground for bezel-free designs.
What makes this one different is that Tecno didn’t rely on curved edges or sloped glass to pull it off. The display edges appear to line up almost perfectly with the edges of the phone itself, with basically no visible border.
Whether that actually works well in daily use is another question, and I’d rather wait to see it in person before saying anything definitive.

Leaker IceUniverse posted on X that the phone is set to appear at IFA 2026 Showstoppers. Whether it ever becomes an actual product you can buy, I’m not convinced either way.
Tecno has a track record of showing off ambitious concepts at these events, and most of them quietly disappear afterward, especially when it comes to Western markets.
