Lenovo just added another option to its LOQ gaming laptop line. The new configuration takes the LOQ 17IRX10 and pairs Intel’s Core i7-14700HX with Nvidia’s newly announced GeForce RTX 5070 12GB laptop GPU. It’s a new spec choice for buyers; nothing about the laptop’s design or feature set has changed.
This variant slots in alongside the existing LOQ 17IRX10 lineup, which already came with GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 8GB options.
The chassis stays exactly the same, but that 12GB RTX 5070 bumps up the VRAM, and that number matters more than ever now that modern AAA games keep demanding bigger texture caches and more memory to run smoothly.

Lenovo’s PSREF listing shows this new build keeps the same 115W Total Graphics Power and 2,347MHz boost clock found on the 8GB RTX 5070 version. The only real change is the memory jump, from 8GB up to 12GB.

You get this laptop with an Intel Core i7-14700HX, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Lenovo kept the 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display too, running at 165Hz, which makes more sense for competitive gaming where smooth frame rates matter more than a sharper picture. A 60Wh battery powers the whole thing, and it supports 245W fast charging.
Ports haven’t changed either. You’re looking at a USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery, three USB-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Lenovo’s own charging connector, all confirmed in the product diagrams.

This update takes a different approach than most GPU refreshes, which usually just chase more raw power. Instead, it tackles something that’s been causing more headaches lately: graphics memory.

A number of recent AAA games have started pushing past what 8GB of VRAM can comfortably handle, especially once you turn on high-resolution textures, ray tracing, and AI upscaling all at the same time.
The RTX 5070 12GB runs at the same power level and clock speed as the 8GB version, but that extra memory should give newer titles more room to breathe and cut down on the texture stutter you get when you push graphics settings higher.
Pricing and availability for this configuration haven’t been announced yet. Notebookcheck points out the model isn’t even listed for sale at this point.
If you’re shopping in this price range for a gaming laptop, don’t expect the refreshed LOQ 17IRX10 to bring a new design or a faster processor to the table. What it does offer is a more balanced GPU setup, one that could actually matter more down the line as games keep asking for more graphics memory.
