Anker is growing its eufy family again, and this time it’s introducing MindBase, a hub that’s built to do a lot more than just save your camera footage somewhere. Rather than shipping your video off to the cloud, MindBase actually processes and makes sense of what it sees right on the device itself, no cloud required.

MindBase acts as the command center for your whole eufy setup, tying every device together into one connected system, and that includes Matter-compatible gadgets from other brands too. So instead of bouncing between separate apps for each device, everything lives in one place.
What makes MindBase stand out is the AI chip that’s built into it. Anker is calling it the TrueSmart Agent, and its job is to process events right there on the device.

It can recognize faces, posture, behavior, and objects all at once, without sending any of that data to a server first. The idea is that this should mean faster alerts you can actually trust.

MindBase also doubles as a kind of memory bank for your home. Every photo, video, and clip your cameras pick up gets stored in one secure local library, and the built-in NAS agent handles the organizing for you.
It sorts everything into a family timeline, puts together highlight reels on its own, and lets you find a specific moment just by asking for it, no scrubbing through hours of footage.

On paper, the specs hold up too. You get 64GB of storage built in, plus two bays if you want to add your own 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drive. It supports up to 20 camera channels and 34 sensors, and it plays nice with HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, and Home Assistant.
There’s no monthly subscription required, which is a nice change of pace, though turning on cloud features like push notifications with thumbnails will still send a small amount of data online.
If Anker actually delivers on this, MindBase could end up being one of the more capable home security hubs we have seen in a while, one that understands what’s happening in front of the camera instead of just recording it and calling it a day.
