Sony looks like it’s gearing up to refresh two of its budget-friendly headphone lines. Import filings that recently surfaced hint at what could be the follow-ups to the WH-CH720N and WH-CH520.
Sony hasn’t said anything official yet, but these documents already give us a peek at model names and possible colorways, and it looks like Sony’s entry-level lineup might finally get its first real update in years.
This leak comes not long after word got out that Sony was working on a new color option for its flagship WH-1000XM6 headphones. But this time, the attention lands on a completely different crowd, people shopping for headphones where price matters just as much as features do.
Sony WH-CH730N and WH-CH530 Leak
The Walkman Blog dug up import records pointing to two new Sony headphones, carrying the internal model numbers YY3006 and YY3005. According to the paperwork, these translate to the WH-CH730N and WH-CH530, which lines up as direct successors to the current WH-CH720N noise-cancelling model and the more budget-friendly WH-CH520.

These filings came out of the Philippines and Vietnam, and they exist mainly for regulatory and shipping purposes. That means they don’t tell us much about what’s actually inside these headphones. What they do reveal is color.
The WH-CH730N looks set to launch in Black, White, Pink, Blue, and Beige. The WH-CH530, sitting at the lower price point, could come in Black, White, Pink, Red, Mint Green, and Blue. That’s a wider color spread than what Sony’s offered before, and it points to the company chasing a younger crowd, people who treat headphones less like pure tech and more like something you wear.
Beyond color, we’ve got nothing special yet. No word on design updates, sound quality changes, battery improvements, or whether noise cancellation gets any better. All of that stays a mystery until Sony actually announces these things themselves.
