ShiftCam is expanding its lineup of iPhone filmmaking accessories with ProRig+, an updated version of its modular camera rig. It adds dedicated controls for focus, zoom, shutter, and shooting modes.

The system launches on Kickstarter alongside the ProControl remote, which gives mobile creators more hands-on control so they do not have to keep tapping the iPhone’s screen.

The news follows ShiftCam’s recent introduction of the original ProRig, which it built with feedback from Apple.

The original model should ship in the coming weeks. ProRig+ comes with a more advanced remote and will reach backers in February 2027. The Kickstarter campaign has also earned the platform’s “Projects We Love” badge.

ProControl: A dedicated camera control for the iPhone

The main upgrade in ProRig+ is ProControl, a wireless camera remote that works with ShiftCam’s ONE app. The original ProRig only came with a basic shutter remote. ProControl adds a two-stage shutter, manual focus, zoom control, and shooting mode switching.

The two-stage shutter works like a regular camera. You half-press to focus, then press fully to take the shot.

Physical controls on the rig’s handle also let you adjust framing, fine-tune focus, and switch between supported shooting modes. That makes it easier to shoot while keeping both hands on the setup.

The rest of the system is the same modular ProRig design. The frame supports several configurations, including rotating handles, mounting points, and compatibility with ShiftCam’s accessory lineup.

You can build anything from a light handheld setup to a larger production rig with compatible lenses, filters, microphones, and lights.

Each phone model gets its own interchangeable bumper. When you buy a new iPhone, you can keep the main rig and swap the bumper instead of replacing the whole setup. ShiftCam says the frame works with supported iPhone upgrades.

ShiftCam says it built the original ProRig with feedback from Apple. The company shared that it was involved before the original product launched. It is not a separate Apple endorsement of ProRig+.

ProRig+ Price and Availability

ProRig+ is launching on Kickstarter at $159. ShiftCam says that is a 20% saving off its planned retail price of $199. A limited early-delivery option costs $189 and is estimated to arrive in December 2026. Regular ProRig+ rewards are expected in February 2027.

You can also pick from several bundles. The Filter Starter Kit costs $362, the Vlog Starter Kit costs $399, the Lens Starter Kit costs $419, and the Zooms Starter Kit costs $499. The Filmmaker Kit tops the list at $549.

If you already own the original ProRig, you do not need to buy a whole new rig to get the new controls. ShiftCam says existing owners can upgrade their setup by buying ProControl as a separate add-on.

The campaign is live on Kickstarter now. As with any crowdfunding project, all delivery dates are estimates and not guaranteed shipping dates.
