AI-powered voice recorders keep showing up in unusual places. We have already seen the Vocci smart ring turning your finger into a recorder, and the Flowtica Scribe hides similar note-taking tech inside an ordinary pen.

Mobvoi is taking that same concept somewhere that arguably makes more sense: a smartwatch. The new TicNote Watch records conversations, converts them into transcripts, and generates AI summaries, all without needing your phone nearby to start capturing audio.

Holding down the dedicated recording button for two seconds starts capturing audio, and Mobvoi says the whole process works offline.

The watch handles both in-person conversations and two-way phone calls, while a quick double press triggers a shorter 60-second recording for quick notes. Dual omnidirectional microphones can reportedly pick up voices from 3 to 5 meters away.

Locally, the watch stores up to 200 hours of recordings, and Mobvoi claims it can run more than 24 hours of continuous recording on a single charge.

Live transcription shows up directly on the watch display, supporting 17 languages. Mobvoi claims at least 98% accuracy with latency under 1.5 seconds, though those numbers haven’t been independently verified yet.

You can tap to flag important moments during a recording, and recordings can later turn into AI-generated summaries and mind maps. This mirrors what Flowtica’s pen already offers, combining recording, transcription, summaries, and follow-up actions through its own companion app.

The TicNote Watch also weaves in health and activity data. Its AI Journal feature combines conversations alongside workouts, sleep tracking, heart rate, blood oxygen, stress levels, and readiness data into one searchable timeline.

AI Recap then pulls from all that collected information to generate an evening summary, highlighting notable moments and any action items.

Recordings and notes sync across your watch, phone, and PC through TicNote Cloud, and you can export transcripts and summaries directly to Notion or Obsidian. The TicNote API also supports access from ChatGPT, Codex, and Claude.

Wearable recording devices like this do raise real privacy questions, since people around you may not immediately realize a conversation is being recorded.

Similar concerns already apply to other discreet recording gadgets, including the Flowtica Scribe mentioned earlier. The TicNote Watch costs $249, though a limited introductory price brings that down to $199. The included Plus plan covers 600 transcription minutes monthly, and Mobvoi also offers Pro and Business plans for heavier use.
