Sony’s next Xperia phone is expected to arrive in just a couple of days, but a new leak may have already given away what the upcoming Xperia 10 VIII looks like.
An image shared by Android Headlines claims to show the Xperia 10 VIII ahead of Sony’s August 25 event in Japan.
Sony has only confirmed that a new “Xperia Product” is on the way, though recent leaks have consistently pointed toward this being the Xperia 10 VIII. If the leaked image holds up, Sony doesn’t appear to be changing much about the phone’s exterior this time around.
Sony Xperia 10 VII Design
At first glance, there’s barely any difference between the leaked phone and last year’s Xperia 10 VII. Sony appears to be sticking with the same horizontal camera module, featuring two rear cameras, an LED flash, and its branding positioned alongside them.

The phone shown carries a pale green finish, and the right side appears to keep the familiar volume controls and recessed power button. That power button placement would suggest Sony is once again relying on a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Since only the back and part of the side show up in the leak, there’s no indication yet whether Sony made any changes to the display or front design.
Sony Xperia 10 VII Specs
Design isn’t the only thing that could be carrying over from the Xperia 10 VII. A recent Geekbench listing for the Sony XQ-GH54, believed to be the Xperia 10 VIII, showed a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor paired with 8GB of RAM.
That’s the exact same chip found inside last year’s model. The device scored 871 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 3,028 in multi-core, hinting there may not be a significant performance jump this generation.
As reported earlier, Sony’s event kicks off at 11 a.m. Japan time on August 25, which works out to 10 p.m. ET on August 24 for viewers in the US.
Xperia phones remain available in Japan and select markets like the UK and Germany, but Sony has scaled back its smartphone business considerably and no longer officially sells Xperia phones in the US. A US launch for the Xperia 10 VIII looks unlikely as a result.
Sony should fill in the remaining details around cameras, battery, pricing, and availability once the event actually kicks off.
