Samsung just took the wraps off the Galaxy S26 FE, and if you were expecting a major overhaul, that’s not really what happened. Most of the hardware barely moves from last year’s Galaxy S25 FE. You still get the Exynos 2500 chip, the same 4,900mAh battery, and a triple-camera setup that looks familiar if you’ve used the previous model.
The real story is on the software side. Samsung made this phone the first in the entire Galaxy S26 family to launch running One UI 9 right out of the box, and it also packed in several newer camera tools and Galaxy AI features that weren’t part of the FE line before.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Features
The screen on the Galaxy S26 FE is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel running at FHD+ resolution, with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,900 nits. Inside, the Exynos 2500 chip pairs with 8GB of RAM, and you can pick between 128GB or 256GB of storage, with a 512GB option showing up in certain markets.

Camera-wise, Samsung didn’t change much. You still get a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera comes in at 12MP, and Nightography is back again to handle low-light shots.
Battery size stays put at 4,900mAh, but Samsung claims its 45W fast charging can get you to about 69% in just 30 minutes. Beyond that, you get 15W wireless charging, Wireless PowerShare so the phone can charge other devices, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Samsung threw in a new feature called My FanCam, which locks onto a person you select and keeps them centered in the frame automatically while you’re filming. Super Steady picked up a Horizontal Lock option too, which keeps your footage level even when you’re moving around.

Galaxy AI got a few upgrades as well. Now Brief now shows briefing cards you can customize, and Now Nudge works across a wider range of third-party apps and notifications. Circle to Search can pick out multiple items within a single image instead of just one, and Photo Assist lets you make edits just by typing what you want in plain language.
On the update side, the Galaxy S26 FE is set for seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches. Samsung is also tossing in a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which comes with 5TB of cloud storage.
The phone goes on sale September 4 in three colors: Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio. The 128GB version starts at $700, putting it $50 above where the Galaxy S25 FE launched.
