Plaud is chasing a goal a lot of AI companies talk about but rarely deliver: making the technology useful right when a conversation is happening, not after you’ve already left the room and typed something into an app.
Its answer is a set of earbuds built to listen in on your meetings and calls, figure out what actually matters, and take action on it without you lifting a finger.
The product is called the Plaud One Explorer Edition, and it targets people whose jobs run on back-to-back meetings, phone calls, brainstorming sessions, and the endless follow-up work that comes after.
Plaud describes it as a new kind of interface built for what it calls the “agent era.” The idea is simple on paper: pair purpose-built hardware with the company’s Plaud Intelligence software so the earbuds can capture what’s being said, understand what you’re trying to accomplish, and carry out tasks through the apps and services you already use.
What Plaud wants to achieve with Plaud One Explorer Edition
You can wear the Plaud One as earbuds or leave it sitting in its charging case, and either way it picks up phone calls, video meetings, in-person conversations, and stray ideas throughout your day. It has its own eSIM and 4G connection built in, so it doesn’t need your phone nearby to stay online, and everything you record gets uploaded on its own for transcription and summary.

The real shift happens once the talking stops. Plaud rebuilt its Intelligence platform to hold onto context and memory over time, so the Plaud Agent inside it can pull from past conversations to draft follow-up messages, put together reports, and trigger actions in other apps, according to the company.
It connects directly to Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack, so something you talked about in a meeting can turn into a real task without you copying it over by hand.
On top of that, the system runs on preset workflows Plaud calls Skills, plus job-specific bundles called Plugins.
The pitch comes down to one idea. Instead of you trying to remember everything that got said and then figuring out what to do with it, the AI carries more of that load, and you get to just focus on the conversation itself.

Plaud built the One Explorer Edition with a specific type of worker in mind: people whose entire job happens through conversation. Think of a sales director who wants a client follow-up email drafted right after a meeting wraps up, or a consultant who needs a workshop turned into a full report.
An executive might ask for a recap of something discussed with a client weeks ago, and a chief of staff could set up a weekly routine that automatically summarizes everything talked about that week.
Plaud puts it simply: the system gets better the longer it runs, because it can hold onto memory and context, connect the dots between separate conversations, and apply workflows more accurately over time.
These upgraded Plaud Intelligence features won’t be locked to the new earbuds either. They’re rolling out to the company’s existing hardware lineup through the Plaud App 4.0 update.

You can pre-order the Explorer Edition now in select markets for $249.99, and each unit comes with $200 in Plaud Credits toward the company’s AI features. Plaud expects to start shipping in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the App 4.0 update landing around the same time.
What stands out here has nothing to do with Plaud releasing another pair of AI earbuds. It’s the bet underneath the product: that the next major shift in how people interact with AI won’t happen through a screen at all. It’ll happen through conversations people are already having anyway.
