Leaks and rumors aside, OnePlus has now confirmed the actual look of the OnePlus 16, along with the storage options you will get at launch.
The company has already opened reservations in its home market. The only pieces still missing are an official announcement locking in the specs everyone’s been expecting, and a launch date, most likely landing sometime in October.
OnePlus 16 Offers
The latest announcement locks in three official color options. Tomorrow’s Starlight leads the pack, a light-toned finish with a fingerprint-resistant silk glass texture.
The company’s president describes it as featuring an “Interstellar Light Effect,” essentially a notification indicator that lights up when the phone is face-down, letting you know about incoming calls, messages, and other alerts without flipping it over.

Dark Forest rounds out the classic option, sticking with that familiar deep-black or dark-gray look. Then there’s Mars Masterpiece, a salmon-pink shade based on the shared images. As for the rear panel design overall, it stays fairly close to what we saw on the OnePlus 15.
OnePlus 16 Storage and Memory options
Storage and memory details are locked in too. You’ll get four tiers to choose from, starting at 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage and topping out at 16GB paired with a full terabyte. That’s fairly standard for how Chinese smartphone makers structure their lineups, giving buyers plenty of room to pick what fits.

Everything beyond that is still rumor for now. Leaks point toward Qualcomm’s newest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro built on a 2nm process, possibly paired with LPDDR6 memory. There’s also talk of a dedicated co-processor handling refresh rate and frame interpolation.
Battery reports suggest a jump to 9,000mAh, a big leap from the OnePlus 15’s 7,300mAh, which already delivered around 10 hours of screen-on time. That kind of capacity increase could push screen-on time up to 12 or 13 hours. One catch: none of this will reach US customers directly, since OnePlus has officially pulled out of that market.
Even so, the OnePlus 16 is worth watching closely. This phone could end up defining what mainstream Android flagships are capable of heading into 2027.
