Amazon has updated one of its best-selling streaming sticks. The Fire TV Stick HD is the latest version, and it’s the thinnest Fire TV device the company has released so far. It’s priced at $34.99, open for preorder now, and starts shipping on April 29.

New Fire TV Stick HD: What’s the Difference?
Compared to the previous model, this one is about 30% thinner. That slimmer profile means it fits easily in tight spaces behind your TV, and it powers through a USB-C cable that plugs straight into your TV’s USB port. No wall adapter needed. If your TV doesn’t have a USB port, a standard USB-C charger works as an alternative.

Amazon has also improved performance with this release. The new Fire TV Stick HD is more than 30% faster than its predecessor, which translates to quicker app load times and a smoother overall experience.

Connectivity gets an upgrade too, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 on board. The device also comes with Amazon’s redesigned Fire TV interface, which rolled out earlier this year. It organizes movies, TV shows, live content, sports, and news in a cleaner, easier-to-navigate layout.
New Fire TV Stick HD Features
For users in the US, Canada, and the UK, Alexa+ is built directly into the stick. You can use it to get show recommendations, look up cast information while watching, or control smart home devices hands-free.

An Adaptive Display feature is also on the way, expected to arrive in the coming months. It will scale up text, menus, and on-screen elements while keeping artwork proportional, making the overall display easier to read. You’ll have multiple size options to adjust it to your preference.
The Fire TV Stick HD starts shipping April 29 in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, with additional regions following shortly after.
