Microsoft has been teasing the Xbox 25th anniversary console since June, though pricing was never part of those teasers.
A new report now suggests the limited-edition Xbox Series X25 could launch well above what you would currently pay for a standard Series X.
Microsoft Report on the Xbox Series X25
According to a Dealabs report citing internal research, the Xbox Series X25 could launch at €899.99 in Europe, or roughly $899.99 in the US.
Microsoft has already confirmed a November 2026 launch window, and this report narrows it down further, pointing to November 27, 2026 specifically. The likely reasoning behind that date is Black Friday, letting Microsoft tie the launch into the holiday sales season.

That would land roughly a month after the matching special edition controller ships. Microsoft has already confirmed the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition arrives in October.
Design-wise, the X25 keeps the translucent “OG Green” shell first shown off at the Xbox Games Showcase, a callback to the original 2001 console, with internal components visible right through the casing.
Why Xbox Series X25 Will Cost More
At an estimated $899.99, the X25 would end up priced identically to Sony’s PS5 Pro, even though the Xbox skips a disc drive too, same as Sony’s console.
Compared to Microsoft’s own current lineup, though, the price gap shrinks considerably. The standard 1TB Series X with a disc drive now runs $799.99 after Microsoft’s price increase this past August, meaning just $100 separates the two consoles.

For some context, Sony’s PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary bundle launched just $50 above the standard Digital Edition’s price at the time. The console market looks quite different now, though.
Repeated waves of the ongoing RAM shortage have pushed console prices up significantly over the past year, and there is no strong reason to expect Xbox’s anniversary console to escape that trend. Pre-order timing for the X25 hasn’t been confirmed yet, so anyone interested should keep watching Xbox’s official channels for updates.
