TCL gave us a quick look at its SQD-Mini LED TVs at CES 2026 in Vegas, and now we have the full picture on what the company is bringing to market this year.

The SQD stands for “Super Quantum Dot,” and the lineup is heading to the UK. The X11L sits at the top, available from 75 inches and up, with the C8L and C7L sitting below it in the range.

TCL says each set is built to make viewing feel bigger, brighter, and more immersive. Based on the model names, the C8L and C7L appear to replace last year’s C8K and C7K.

On paper, the X11L’s specs are impressive. TCL puts the dimming zone count at up to 20,736, peak brightness at up to 10,000 nits, and claims full 100% BT.2020 colour gamut coverage for accurate, cinema-grade colour reproduction.

That last claim has already drawn some scrutiny. An early pre-review found the X11L falling short of those colour targets, though there is a catch: the testing may have been done outside the TV’s optimal picture mode, which could explain the gap between TCL’s numbers and what the reviewer measured. It’s worth keeping an eye on full reviews before drawing any firm conclusions.

TCL SQD-Mini LED TVs Features

The X11L runs a native 144Hz panel, which keeps motion smooth and makes it a good pick for gaming. HDR support covers both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, though given how bright this TV gets, you could argue the dynamic tone mapping those formats provide becomes less of a necessity.

For picture consistency, TCL uses its WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel technology, which is designed to keep colours, contrast, and brightness accurate even when you’re watching from an angle rather than dead center. Audio comes from Bang & Olufsen, the Danish brand TCL has partnered with before, handling the sound side of things.

Drop down to the C8L and the numbers come back to earth. You get 4,032 dimming zones and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, both significantly lower than what the X11L offers.

The 144Hz native refresh rate carries over, so motion and gaming performance should stay sharp. Bang & Olufsen again handles the audio, and this time the system adds Dolby Atmos support.

The C7L sits at the bottom of the three, but its specs still hold up well against most other Mini LED TVs out there. It comes with 2,176 dimming zones, 3,000 nits of peak brightness, a native 144Hz panel, HDMI 2.1, and Dolby Atmos for audio.

Size options are broad across the range. The C7L goes from 55 to 98 inches, the C8L covers the same spread, and the X11L is available in 75, 85, and 98-inch sizes.

TCL has not announced pricing yet, but the SQD-Mini LED lineup is expected to go on sale in May 2026.
