Samsung used its first Unpacked event of the year to update its audio lineup with the Galaxy Buds 4 series. The lineup comes in two versions: the standard Galaxy Buds 4 and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Both get a new design and a few feature additions worth noting.

On pricing, the Galaxy Buds 4 start at $179 and the Pro version costs $249. Pre-orders are open now. If you order directly from Samsung’s store, the Pro model is available in an exclusive pink gold finish with the standard white and black options.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Series Design
Samsung made the Galaxy Buds 4 more compact this time around. The earbud head is smaller and sits in an open-fit design, similar to what you get with the base AirPods. To set it apart, Samsung flattened the stem, gave it a metallic finish, and moved the gesture controls to the sides of the earbud.

The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro uses an angled in-canal design with rubberized eartips, which puts it in the same category as the AirPods Pro in terms of how it fits in your ear.
Samsung still goes with a two-tone finish on these, and you also get an exposed vent and a transparent charging case that supports wireless charging.
If you own a Galaxy phone, you can access the core features without downloading any additional apps. For users pairing the buds with a non-Samsung Android device or an iPhone, the Galaxy Wearable app is required. The earbuds also support head gestures for managing calls and notifications, a feature that works similarly to how AirPods handle it.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Series
Samsung fitted both Buds 4 models with larger drivers. The Pro version gets a wider woofer, made possible by slimmer edges around the driver that allow for stronger sonic vibrations.
These hardware changes also enable 24-bit/96kHz audio transmission, which means you get hi-fi quality sound through the earbuds.
Samsung is also pushing for improved noise cancellation with the Buds 4 series. The Enhanced ANC promises better noise isolation compared to previous models.

On top of that, there is a new Enhanced Adaptive ANC/EQ feature that adjusts the sound output based on the shape of your ear canal and how sensitive your hearing is, so the audio profile adapts specifically to you.
Samsung also added a Super Clear Call feature to the Buds 4 series. It uses super wideband call technology to double the bandwidth of call signals, which results in cleaner, more natural-sounding audio during calls. Samsung describes the call quality on the Buds 4 Pro as close to talking with someone in the same room.
