Honor made a name for itself last year when the Magic V5 became the thinnest foldable on the market. The company is going after a different target with the Magic V6 now, and this time it’s all about durability.

Honor is set to show off the Magic V6 at MWC next month, and ahead of that they reveal, the company has already shared some details about what’s coming.

Honor Magic V6 specs

The Magic V6 will carry both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. That’s a notable step up from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which holds an IP48 rating. The difference matters because IP69 adds protection against high-pressure water jets, something IP48 doesn’t cover.

Beyond water resistance, Honor is also introducing a new hinge built from what it calls Honor Super Steel. The material is rated at 2,800 MPa, and Honor describes it as the strongest special steel used in any commercial product.

The goal is a hinge that holds up better over time and keeps the phone feeling good even after years of daily use.

To back up its claims about the hinge, Honor put together a striking test. A person rides a zip line with the Magic V6’s hinge as the only point of support.

Honor has already teased the stunt on X, and the full video is expected to drop at MWC when the phone makes its official debut.

The durability work doesn’t stop at the hinge. Honor is also strengthening the inner foldable display. The screen uses ultra-thin glass with a low-reflectivity coating, which serves two purposes.

It makes the display more resistant to wear over time, and it cuts down on glare during everyday use. For a foldable screen that flexes every time you open and close the phone, that kind of reinforcement is a practical improvement, not just a spec sheet addition.

Honor Magic V6 Specs

Honor hasn’t shared anything about the internal specs yet, but the company did give an early look at how the Magic V6 will look.

The phone shows up in a bold red colorway, and the design has clearly been cleaned up from its predecessor.

The camera has a more refined shape, the back panel has a textured finish in red, and the frame is made of gold metal. The combination gives the phone a noticeably premium appearance, even in these early preview images.

The official images show a few more design details worth noting. The hinge has been redesigned with a new texture on the outside.

On the back, you get a triple-camera setup. The outer display is flat with a centered hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, and when you open the phone, the inner screen has its own hole-punch cutout positioned on the right side for the internal front camera.

Honor plans to introduce the Magic V6 at its MWC keynote on March 1, with two other announcements: the Honor Robot Phone and a humanoid robot. That event is where Honor will lay out the full picture, including specs, pricing, and when you can actually buy one.
