If the Google Pixel 10a has been on your radar, there’s some promising news coming your way. Recent leaks are showing 2 things that should make many people happy. It might arrive sooner than expected, and it could actually cost less than the Google Pixel 9a did when it first came out.
Google Pixel 10a Release Date
The buzz around this is mainly coming from @MysteryLupin, a leaker who’s been pretty reliable in the past. According to them, Google might launch the Pixel 10a on February 17. That’s a bit earlier than you’d probably guess, especially considering the Pixel 9a didn’t arrive until March 19 last year.

There’s also some interesting pricing information floating around. The same source says the Pixel 10a could start at about €500 for the base 128GB model, rising to roughly €600 for the 256GB version.
If that’s accurate, we’re looking at a phone that’s around €50 cheaper than what the Pixel 9a cost when it launched. Now, prices don’t always translate perfectly across different currencies and regions, but this could mean it’ll come in slightly under the Pixel 9a’s original price of $499 in the US and £499 in the UK.
Google Pixel 10a Spec
The leaks don’t stop there either. This same source is also sharing details about color options, saying the 128GB model will come in four shades: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender, and Fog.
Meanwhile, if you go for the 256GB version, you’ll apparently only have one choice: Obsidian. Now, it’s worth taking all of this with a healthy dose of skepticism, but here’s the thing: Roland Quandt, another leaker with an excellent history of getting things right, is backing up a lot of these details.

He’s mentioning the same color lineup and storage options, and also pointing to a mid-February release window.
However, there is one piece of news today that’s a bit less exciting. Android Headlines just posted what appears to be an official render of the Pixel 10a, and based on what we’re seeing, it’s almost identical to the Pixel 9a. That’s kind of a letdown, honestly, especially since the 9a wasn’t exactly winning any beauty contests.
In fact, when we reviewed it, we called it “the monster Pixel phone ever.” So if you were hoping for a new design this time around, you might be disappointed.
Google Pixel 10a with little or no upgrade
As for the actual specs, the latest leaks are pretty light on details beyond storage capacity. But if we look at what’s been rumored before, it doesn’t sound like there will be major changes under the hood either.
The main improvement seems to be a slightly enhanced version of the Tensor G4 chipset that’s already in the Pixel 9a. When you put it that way, the lower price tag starts to make more sense; otherwise, it’d be pretty hard to convince people to buy it.
But here’s the thing: even with a lower price, if the headline feature is just an upgraded version of a chip that first showed up in the Google Pixel 9 about 18 months ago, it’s tough to see this phone flying off the shelves.

Let’s hope Google has more up its sleeve than just a tweaked processor, especially if they want the Pixel 10a to compete with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e.
When we reviewed the Pixel 9a, we pointed out several areas that really needed work: the design (which we weren’t fans of), the cameras, battery life, software experience, and overall performance.
Ideally, Google will tackle at least a few of these issues to make the 10a feel like a genuine step forward rather than just a minor refresh.
