Google officially announced the Google Pixel 10a today after teasing it earlier this month. The phone is an updated version of the Google Pixel 9a with small design changes and minor spec improvements, rather than a complete redesign. It arrives mostly as expected based on earlier leaks.

The Google Pixel 10a keeps most of what made the Pixel 9a work. Here is what has changed. The plastic ring around the rear camera module is gone. The camera now sits flush with the back panel, which makes the whole phone look cleaner.

Google also reduced the bezel size around the display, making a design that feels slightly more refined without straying too far from the previous model.

The display stays at 6.3 inches with a pOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness increases from 2,700 nits to 3,000 nits, which helps visibility in direct sunlight.

The durability improves with Gorilla Glass 7i instead of Gorilla Glass 3. This newer glass handles liquid drops and scratches better than the older version. Charging speeds get a small upgrade to 30W wired and 10W wireless. The previous model charged more slowly, so this cuts down the time you spend plugged in.

The rest of the hardware stays the same. The Pixel 10a still uses Google’s Tensor G4 chipset with 8GB of RAM. Storage options remain at 128GB or 256GB.

The battery holds 5,100mAh, matching last year’s capacity. The camera setup doesn’t change either. You get a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 13MP front camera.

The IP68 rating for dust and water resistance stays the same. The fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6E, and NFC support all carry over from the previous model.

Google added a new modem to enable Satellite SOS, which lets you send emergency messages when cellular coverage isn’t available.

The Pixel 10a ships with Android 16 preinstalled. Google says they will provide seven years of OS and security updates, which means the phone stays supported through 2032.

Pricing stays at $499 since the upgrades are minimal this year. You can choose from Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender colors. Pre-orders start today, and the phone goes on sale March 5.
