Amazfit makes good budget running watches, even if the brand isn’t as well-known as some competitors. The two recent updates make these watches a better value for anyone watching their spending while trying to stay fit.
First, the Runna app now works with Amazfit watches. Runna ranks among the top fitness apps available. It offers strong analysis tools and connects you with an active community. Adding this app to your Amazfit watch gives you more functionality without spending extra money.
The second update matters just as much for people who want affordable fitness tracking. Amazfit watches now give you access to training features and data that used to require more expensive devices.

You get detailed workout metrics, performance tracking, and coaching guidance that helps you improve your running without breaking your budget.
These changes mean you can get quality fitness tracking at a lower price point. The combination of Amazfit hardware and Runna software creates a setup that competes with pricier options from well-known brands.
If you’ve been waiting to buy a running watch because of cost, this pairing gives you a practical way to start tracking your fitness without overspending.
The partnership works in both directions. You can send workouts from Runna to the Zepp app on your Amazfit watch, then send your completed runs back to Runna when you finish. This two-way sync keeps your data current across both platforms.

Right now, the feature works with the Amazfit Balance 2 and T-Rex 3 Pro. Other Amazfit models will get this capability later, though the company hasn’t said exactly when.
Runna shared some guidance to help Amazfit users make the most of this new setup. One thing to know is that you can only sync running workouts now. Whether the integration will expand to include cycling, strength training, or other activities remains unclear. For now, stick to running if you want the sync feature to work properly.
This limitation doesn’t make the partnership useless, but it does narrow how you can use it. If you do multiple types of workouts, you’ll need to track non-running activities differently until support expands.
Amazfit Watches Zeppa App Design Update
Amazfit also updated its Zepp app with a new design and new features to help you stay motivated.
Version 10 of the Zepp app launched on iOS with a completely redesigned interface. The home screen got reorganized to make navigation easier.

You’ll find separate, clearly marked sections for activities, health metrics, training plans, and other data. The app uses more colors and looks more current compared to the old version.
Beyond the visual changes, Zepp added a Badges tab that turns fitness into more of a game. You earn badges when you hit personal records, complete long-term goals, finish challenges, or reach other milestones. The app shows you which badges you’ve earned and which ones you can still unlock.
This badge system serves two purposes. It rewards you for the work you’ve already done and pushes you to keep going. Seeing locked badges gives you specific targets to aim for, which can help when your motivation drops.
The update focuses on making the app more user-friendly while giving you extra reasons to stick with your fitness routine. Whether these changes actually help depends on how much you care about earning digital badges, but they add another layer to basic workout tracking.

These two updates give Amazfit users some useful new tools. The Runna integration adds better training features, while the redesigned Zepp app makes daily use smoother and adds motivation through the badge system.
More improvements appear to be coming. Runna confirmed it’s working with Amazfit to bring workout syncing to additional watch models. This means if your current Amazfit watch doesn’t support the feature yet, it might get added later.
The timing of these updates matters. Amazfit competes in a crowded market where brands constantly add features to stand out. These changes help close the gap between budget watches and premium models that cost two or three times as much.
If you already own an Amazfit watch, you get these benefits without paying anything extra. If you’re considering buying one, these updates make the value proposition stronger. You’re getting more functionality at the same price point as before.
